Access Points
Meru access points are built from the radio layer up to support virtualized Wireless LANs – an architecture in which each client gets its own dedicated Virtual Port, offering the predictability and performance of switched Ethernet.
Supporting IEEE standards including 802.11n, Meru access points are Wi-Fi Certified for interoperability. They are available in single or dual radio models, with a scalable architecture – customers who require more coverage can simply plug in additional APs. As Meru's Virtual Cell architecture eliminates co-channel interference, installations typically need 30% fewer APs than other wireless LAN solutions, resulting in substantial cost and energy savings.
All of Meru's access points do double-duty as scanners for security and management. They are engineered to specifically to avoid the costly and complex overlay networks needed in other architectures while providing the industry's best throughput and 24/7 compromise-free security.
